Welcome to View, the Rigpa Journal

This magazine combines the names of our two previous titles, View and The Rigpa Journal, and it aims to continue in exactly the same spirit.

In future, we will keep you up to date with the progress of Rigpa's projects and activities; bring you teachings and interviews with Sogyal Rinpoche and other masters; and follow His Holiness the Dalai Lama as he continues to carry his message of compassion, peace and human values to all corners of the world.

Celebrating Kyabjé Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche's Life

The July 2010 edition of View, The Rigpa Journal, celebrates the life of Kyabjé Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and the first visit of his incarnation, Dilgo Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche, to the West.

The magazine includes a report on the celebrations to mark the centenary of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche's birth, which began in Nepal in February.

There is also a very special teaching by Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche on shamatha and vipashyana, which he gave during a visit to the Rigpa centre in London in 1982. And we look back on the historic retreat at Prapoutel, France in 1990, where Khyentse Rinpoche granted a remarkable series of teachings and empowerments.

This edition of the magazine features a full report on the Three Year Retreat, with interviews and insights from some of the students who completed the retreat at Lerab Ling in France, or who have been following the Home Retreat in their own countries.

There is also a teaching by Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, 'Very Little Needs and Much Contentment', in which he speaks about the environmental and financial challenges facing the world today, and gives advice on how we can help to address them.
