Sogyal Rinpoche’s deepest wish is to focus on the further development of practitioners, scholars and teachers that will uphold our Dharma traditions for the benefit of students throughout the world.

Right now, our most urgent and pressing priority is to secure the future of Sogyal Rinpoche's work by ensuring that more students are thoroughly trained and accomplished in the study and practice of the Dharma.

It is Rinpoche’s vision, and hope, that such a body of students will then help guide and support the Rigpa Sangha in our centres and groups around the world. This will help ensure the integrity of our traditions of teaching, practice and study, and will offer students much-needed spiritual care and support, as they follow the path.

While many of those students have a sincere and heartfelt wish to commit their lives to studying the Dharma and being of service to others, very few have the means to actually accomplish this. Unlike traditional Buddhist societies in the East, we have no established culture of supporting people who wish to dedicate their lives to the Buddhist path.

However, if Buddhism is genuinely to take root and flourish here in the West, the permanent education and training of students is essential.

The Rigpa Scholarship Fund is essential if we are to ensure the continuation of the pure and authentic traditions of study and practice in Tibetan Buddhism, and the living transmission of wisdom within this great lineage.
