Everyone at Dhokham Drupwang Gyalwa, the Dzogchen Monastery, is so sorry to hear about the loss of venerable Sogyal Rinpoche. He was a fantastic individual who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. We offer our deepest heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and all the holders of the community of Lerab Ling Rigpa Dharma Group, and those connected with it.

In the 20th century, the bodhichitta aspiration and activities of Sogyal Rinpoche to spread the teachings of the Victorious One in general and the long-standing Nyingma tradition throughout the west were unequalled. He transmitted the peaceful teachings of the inner doctrine of the Dharma to the minds of people in modern, developed countries and also helped to found the Dzogchen Monastery in South India.

Upon hearing of the sad passing of venerable Sogyal Rinpoche, all of the gathered holders of the teachings here at Dzogchen Monastery offer our condolences. The assembled monastic community here are engaging in the authentic rituals of Vajrasattva and the Peaceful and Wrathful Deities practice of Narak Kong Shak. For all the students whom he leaves behind, we make prayers of aspiration: through arousing tremendous bodhichitta, with harmonious attitude and pure samaya, may you not slacken in your efforts to practise according to your lama’s instructions of the profound Dharma, and maintain the continuity of your tradition without decline.

From the gathered holders of the doctrine, monastics and everyone at Dhokham Drupwang Gyalwa Dzogchen Monastery, Tibet on 30th August 2019
