Damcho Zangmo, spiritual wife of Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche

I am extremely sad to hear that Sogyal Rinpoche has passed away, really very sad. Rinpoche’s students, the Rigpa Sangha, and myself are extremely pained by the loss. But Rigpa students should have great faith and pure perception: he was truly a great teacher. It is hard for ordinary people like us to know someone is a great teacher, but we can realize that when our teacher passes away. Sogyal Rinpoche was a great teacher.

Sogyal Rinpoche’s root and dzogchen teacher was Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche. Sogyal Rinpoche held all the teachings he received from Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche extremely well. Rinpoche past away almost on the same day as Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche. There is only one day difference, which is really amazing.

Still, at the moment we are doing an accumulation of a hundred thousand tsok offerings of Vajrasattva. Although we pray for Sogyal Rinpoche, he has already travelled to Zangdokpalri. His body has passed, but there is no passing away of his wisdom mind— his wisdom mind has left for Zangdokpalri. Also, I am sure Rinpoche knows everything. He knows whatever we are doing.

Again, I am so sad about the passing of Rinpoche. Every year, Sogyal Rinpoche and the Rigpa Sangha make offerings for Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche’s anniversary for the tsok offering.

It is amazing that that there is only one day difference between Nyodhul Khen Rinpoche’s and Sogyal Rinpoche’s passing. I find that truly amazing. This shows that their minds have merged as one and this is truly amazing.

Now, I pray to Rinpoche, offer prostrations and offerings and butter lamps continuously, and make tsok offerings.
